12th Annual Blooming Bardstown Garden Tour, Marketplace and Auction
Come see what’s new at the 12th Annual Blooming Bardstown Garden Tour, Marketplace and Auction being held June 13, 2015 in Bardstown, KY.
Fabulous private gardens and a walking tour of downtown Bardstown gardens are on this year’s self-guided tour that runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Ponds with peaceful waterfalls, vegetable gardens, creative outdoor “rooms,” container gardening, sun and shade gardens, and comfortable outdoor dining areas are included on this year’s tour of selected gardens in Bardstown and Nelson County. There will also be such features as pergolas, rain barrels, ornamental grasses, multi-level decks, wooded paths and enough garden art to keep you smiling all day.
The Marketplace will be open at the Extension Office from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The purchase of a tour ticket is not necessary to enjoy the events taking place at the Marketplace. Visitors can purchase garden tour tickets, grab a bite to eat, submit their bids in the silent auction and sign up for the door prize.
Local vendors will have garden-related items for sale and the Kentucky Home Master Gardeners, who sponsor the event, will be selling annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, houseplants, and flower seeds at the Marketplace. They will also be selling hand-crafted items for the garden such as birdhouses, stepping stones, and uniquely planted containers along with gardening magazines and books and wonderfully creative yard art. In addition, local artists will be selling their garden-inspired artwork.
Tour tickets are $8 in advance, $10 day-of-tour and $7/each for groups of 10 or more at the Extension Office at 317 S. Third and the Tourist Commission at One Court Square in Bardstown, KY.
