2016 Carnegie Books-in-Progress Conference
June 2-4, 2016, at the Carnegie Center.
Featuring world-renowned author and Kentucky's most prolific living writer Wendell Berry (World Lost, Jayber Crow, Country of Marriage and Hannah Coulter, among others). The conference welcomes both beginning and advanced writers. We feature craft workshops in nonfiction, fiction, YA and business workshops on how to get published and more.
Registration has gone live on our site at the early bird rate. In addition to the lower registration fee, early registrants have priority in signing up to meet with literary agents at the conference.
This year's agents, Noah Ballard and Sharon Pelletier, will be traveling from New York to lead workshops and meet one-on-one with conference attendees (extra fee of $25 required). Their appearance helps us meet the mission of the Books-in-Progress Conference: to help people write, publish and sell their books.
And as is our tradition, we've engaged a stellar line-up of teachers and connectors, including novelist Silas House, creative nonfiction writer Fenton Johnson and YA novelist Sarah Combs, among others, will be joining literary legend Wendell Berry. We have the best-selling children's writer Marcia Thornton Jones, as well as Writers' Digest editor Jessica Strawser.
Back by popular demand is our pre-conference retreat on Thursday, June 2, 10:00 am-5:00 pm.
