Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and beverages while shopping. Louisville Stoneware will donate 10% the night’s sales of the Komen Birdhouse to the local Louisville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The event is free and open to the public and will be attended by local Komen officials and supporters. The program will include a short welcome and speech by a local survivor.
The 2013 edition of the Louisville Stoneware Komen Birdhouse is a quaint teapot-inspired birdhouse. The detailed, whimsical, pink Komen Tea Pot Birdhouse retails for $70. With an intricate stone foundation, this functional cottage-style birdhouse has three-dimensional windows and doors, and is ready for both immediate occupancy and hanging.
Louisville Stoneware began its Komen Birdhouse series in 2009 with a Wren House ($65) designed by Jon Carloftis, followed by the 2010 Cottage ($70), the 2011 Fairy Hollow ($65) and the 2012 Mushroom ($70).
All five designs are available for purchase at www.louisvillestoneware.com or at the Louisville Stoneware Showroom at 731 Brent Street in Louisville, Ky., which is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Stoneware is naturally resilient, and these handmade birdhouses provide year-round enjoyment in almost any environment, standing up to frosts and freezes.
