Butchertown Grocery plans “A Taste of Good Luck” New Year’s Eve dinner
New Louisville restaurant to offer lucky foods from around the world Dec. 31
Recently opened restaurant Butchertown Grocery, 1076 E. Washington St., will offer a special New Year’s Eve meal Thursday, Dec. 31 highlighting food considered lucky around the world. The “A Taste of Good Luck” will feature chef Bobby Benjamin’s takes on Italian, American, Russian, Israeli, Hungarian and Portuguese dishes commonly served to celebrate the New Year and bring good fortune. The seven-course meal is $125 per person, plus tax and gratuity, with additional wine pairings available for $60.
The “A Taste of Good Luck” menu includes:
First Course: Italy
Tagliatelle, quail egg and black truffles
Second Course: The South
Shaved Brussels sprouts with black-eyed peas
Third Course: Portugal
Wild gooseneck barnacles, verjus, herbs and grilled bread
Fourth Course: Russia
Pan-roasted halibut, parsnips, orange, fennel and basil
Fifth Course: Israel
Short ribs with smoked apple slaw
Sixth Course: Hungary
Capriole Farms Pipers Pyramid goat cheese with pistachios and pomegranates
Seventh Course: Kentucky
Rotisserie torta with chocolate, bourbon-bacon caramel and caramel-sea salt ice cream
