Full “Harvest” Moon Night Hike & Lunar Eclipse
SONICBernheim is a site-specific lecture/performance series exploring the relationships between sound, music, and nature. This event takes place in nature by the light of a full moon and its total eclipse. The program features a short lecture by Guest Speaker Aaron Allen exploring different aspects of sound, followed by experimental sound performances by regionally acclaimed sound artists. Attendees will travel on foot from performance to performance. The program begins at the Garden Pavilion. Chairs, blankets, flashlights, picnics and drinks are welcome, but no alcohol will be permitted.
Full moon programs weave together stories about night ecology, moon lore, history and the magic of nature at night. Night hikes keep to open trails and roads so that travel without flashlights is possible. Full Moon Hike guests are asked to meet our Volunteer Naturalists at the Education Center parking lot at 7:30 p.m.
No pets please. Registration and payment for the Full Moon Night Hike are due by 4 p.m. on September 26. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members.
Call (502) 955-8512 before 5 p.m. on the day of the program for last minute updates and changes due to weather.
