Hoodie Allen at The Mercury Ballroom
Last fall, Hoodie Allen performed his greatest hits from People Keep Talking to a spectacular sold-out show in Louisville. With catchy beats and witty lyrics, Hoodie will make his return to the Mercury Ballroom to showcase his genre-bending style on Wednesday, March 9.
Keeping up with the communication with fans is something that Hoodie Allen holds very dear to his heart. “It’s not a job for me, it’s just something that I love to do,” says Hoodie.“I love to be able to make those tons of names become people who I see at shows.” He believes the key to connecting with his fans is to be an open book online, and to try to have as few barriers as possible.
Hoodie Allen is constantly trying to please the fans, and wants to make sure they are as equally as proud of an album as he is. It is because of this that he has made 4 out of his 5 albums/EP/mixtapes completely free for whoever wants to take the time to get a sense of what Hoodie and his music is all about.
Steven Markowitz chose the stage name Hoodie Allen because he wanted a name that would be memorable, unique and fun. Not only does that name suit his personality, it also suits his on-stage presence. There is no better way to hear Hoodie Allen’s new songs than in a live intimate setting where each chord, each word, is right there in front of you from the artist himself. A raw and relatable talent such as Hoodie is is meant to be experienced first-hand and Mercury Ballroom's premium sound and intimate space will deliver just that.
