Jackie Evancho’s first and only Kentucky performance will be at the Lancaster Grand Theatre. At only 10 years of age, the purity and power of Jackie Evancho’s voice on the television show
America’s Got Talent gained Jackie worldwide recognition. She was immediately signed to Columbia Records where she has released a string of successful recordings in classical crossover music, including O Holy Night (certified Platinum), Dream With Me (certified Gold), and three Billboard 200 top 10 debuts. She has collaborated with the legendary Barbra Streisand and pop singer Susan Boyle, as well as having worked with producer David Foster.
Additional accomplishments to date – now at the age of 15! – include being the world’s youngest performer to enter the Billboard charts at No. 1, as well as being the youngest performer to sing a solo recital at the Lincoln Center. Jackie performed before 100,000 people in Russia with opera stars Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo prior to the opening of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum and performed in Japan before the Royal Family at the Imperial Palace. Her first PBS Special was one of the top pledge-producing performances in PBS history. In December 2014 she was selected to participate in the lighting of the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., and she was most recently on stage at the Royal Paragon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand in April, 2015, appearing with Italian classical tenor Andrea Bocelli.
Jackie made her movie debut in Robert Redford’s 2013 film, “The Company You Keep,” alongside Susan Sarandon, Shia LeBeouf and Nick Nolte. Redford directed and played her father in the thriller. She was also commissioned by HBO to sing the theme song for their popular series Game of Thrones.
Jackie will be accompanied by members of the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra for her performance at the Lancaster Grand Theatre,. This is a Central Kentucky event that is not to be missed. Part of her charm is her age – but her talent is ageless.
