Kentucky by Design Academic Symposium at the Frazier Museum
Now for the first time, visitors can see the first comprehensive examination of the objects from the Bluegrass State featured in this historic venture, featuring the artist’s watercolor renderings alongside the original artifacts when the exhibit Kentucky by Design: The Decorative Arts and American Culture opens at the Frazier History Museum on August 4, 2016.
In celebration of the exhibit Kentucky by Design: The Decorative Arts and American Culture, the Frazier will host a number of programs celebrating Kentucky craft, art, music and design, includingKentucky by Design Academic Symposium on Friday September 16, 2016, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This academic symposium featuring Kentucky by Design scholars Erika Doss, Jerrold Hirsh, and Jean Burks, as well as Tommy Hines, and Shelly Zegart, will inform Kentucky visitors on the rich history of American craft in the Commonwealth.
