Maker’s Mark Taste Maker’s Weekend, featuring Chef Rick Bayless
WHAT: This is the first weekend in a series of many to come at the Maker’s Mark Distillery in which master craftspeople will be invited to the grounds to showcase their creations and to receive the Maker’s Mark TasteMaker’s award. The award is given to craftspeople who are dedicated to producing high-quality, handcrafted and premium items, and Chef Rick Bayless is the first to receive one. Chef Rick is a six-time James Beard Award winner, host of the long-running show “Mexico: One Plate at a Time,” and is the chef/owner of Chicago’s Frontera Grill and Topolobampo.
The first night of the weekend kicks off with an intimate dinner including Maker’s Mark-erita cocktails and authentic Mexican food with a Kentucky bourbon twist, all prepared by Chef Rick. Each guest will receive a complimentary autographed copy of his book, More Mexican Every Day. Tickets for this event are $200 and seats are limited!
The second part of the weekend is a Festival on the Grounds, this time themed as a fiesta with Chef Rick. Live music from a Mariachi band, a casual atmosphere on the grounds of the Distillery and delicious food made by Chef Rick will be available, and don’t forget the cocktails. This is a chance to meet Chef Rick and to get outdoors for a fun afternoon. Tickets are $30, and they’re going fast!
