Norton Commons 4th Annual “Corkestra” Event
Norton Commons will host its 4th annual “Corkestra” event at the northeast Jefferson County community’s outdoor lakefront amphitheater on September 11.
The 2016 event features theLouisville Chorus playing alongside the completely musician-run orchestra, Louisville Philharmonia.
“The Louisville Chorus is excited to be pairing up for a great cause at a wonderful venue,” said Daniel Spurlock, Music Director of the Louisville Chorus. “Concertgoers can expect a mix of Jazz, Celtic, Gospel, and Patriotic numbers, love songs, and special music remembering 9/11 in a tremendous setting.”
General admission tickets are $25.00 in advance and at the door. Specialty bourbon offerings will feature Brown Forman Coopers’ Craft bourbon cocktails, Jackson Family wines, and West Sixth Brewing Company craft beers.
“Corkestra is becoming an early fall tradition for residents and non-residents alike.” said Marilyn Osborn Patterson, Marketing Director and General Counsel for Norton Commons. “Last year we raised over $35,000 for charity, and we are aiming our sights even higher this year.”
Proceeds will benefit The Bill Meadows Foundation, an organization that assists families and individuals that have been negatively impacted by sudden serious illness.
Gates open at 2:30 p.m. and a 90-minute performance begins at 3:30 p.m. Visitors should pack their own blankets and lawn chairs.
