A Wes Craven Halloween
In honor of the life and legacy which writer and director, Wes Craven, built and developed for the horror movie genre, The Louisville Palace will host "A Wes Craven Halloween" featuring A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and Scream (1996).
Craven reinvented the youth horror genre with the classic A Nightmare on Elm Street, a film that perfects the ability to transgress the boundaries between the imaginary and real, toying with audience perceptions. This classic Hollywood Horror continues to receive critical acclaim and remains a timeless terror.
In 1996, Craven reached a new level of success with the release of Scream. This slasher classic reinvigorated the horror genre, creating a new scary movie icon and launching a frightening film franchise. Based partly on the real-life case of The Gainesville Ripper, the film uncovers the terrifying true events behind the horror film as we investigate the parallels between the fictional serial killer and the real-life serial killer.
Tickets are $5 per film. A Nightmare on Elm Street plays off at 7:00 p.m. and Scream follows at 9:30pm. All ages are welcome. Online Service charges not included on ticket prices.
