Thousands of visitors participate in the popular October weekend event in Perryville each year that commemorates the Oct. 8, 1862, Civil War Battle of Perryville. Re-enactors demonstrate military maneuvers that were used in the battle.
There are living history encampments, a lecture series, book presenters, antiques and vendor tents, a commemoration parade, ghost tours, a period social and a "Taste of 1862" Dinner & Dance featuring a historically authentic meal prepared over a open fire.
Other fun activities include a craft fair, flea market, festival food, a car show and a street dance.
