Bristol Bar and Grille honors Bastille Day
Bordeaux wine dinner, specialty dishes and sommelier selections will be offered
Bristol Bar and Grille will offer French-inspired fare and several wine specials throughout July to mark Bastille Day. Kicking off the festivities, the downtown Bristol, 614 W. Main St., will host a Bordeaux wine dinner with Elizabeth Spurr of Aquitaine Wine Company Wednesday, July 1 at 7 p.m. The evening will include a five-course dinner with six wine pairings. The cost is $68 per person, plus tax and gratuity. For reservations and additional information, call the downtown Bristol at 502-582-1995. Ongoing specials will also be available at the Jeffersonville Bristol, 700 W. Riverside Dr., from July 10 to 14. These include coq au vin blanc, grilled trout à la meunière and steak bordelaise with wines hand-selected by master sommelier Scott Harper. Additionally, all five locations will have a special list of French wines available July 14 through the end of the month.

Bastille Day is a French national day that commemorates the start of the French Revolution after the storming of the Bastille July 14, 1789. Today, it is spectacularly celebrated with parades, balls, parties and fireworks.
