Campbellsville University’s Noon Organ Recital
Glenna Metcalfe, a teacher at Royal Spring Middle School in Georgetown, Ky. and organist at Broadway Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., will perform at Campbellsville University’s Noon Organ Recital at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 in the Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.
She will perform works by Lübeck, Bach, Paine and Vierne. Everyone is invited to the free concert.
Metcalfe received her Master of Music Degree in Organ Performance from the University of Louisville where she was a student of Melvin Dickinson. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Georgetown College where she studied with Daniel Tilford.
The Noon Organ Series concludes at 12:50 p.m. in order for those attending to return to work during their lunch hour.
The series, which is open to the public, provides organ music from the 1894 Farrand and Votey Organ in Ransdell Chapel which is enlarged to 51 ranks by Moeller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies.
The series continues in 2017 with the following:
- Feb. 7, 2017 – Brian Hunt, organist, assistant music director, Cathedral of Christ the King, Lexington, Ky.;
- March 21 – Jane Johnson, director of student affairs, University of Kentucky Lexington, Ky.;
- April 11 – Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, with faculty from the Campbellsville University School of Music.
