Performances will occur on Thursday, June 30; Friday, July 1; Saturday, July 2; Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4. Thursday through Saturday, these performances will begin at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the performance will begin at 2:30 p.m., and on Monday, the performance will begin at 6 p.m.
Tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Seniors (65 and up), children (12 and under) and Campbellsville University employees and students and active military will pay $7.
The play is adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play and Gabriel Pascal’s motion picture “Pygmalion” with Alan Jay Lerner’s book and lyrics with music by Frederick Loewe.
A synopsis of the music includes a pompous phonetics professor named Henry Higgins who is so sure of his abilities that he takes it upon himself to transform a
Cockney working-class girl into someone who can pass for a cultured member of high
society.
His subject turns out to be the lovely Eliza Doolittle, who agrees to speech lessons to improve her job prospects. Higgins and Eliza clash, then form an unlikely bond; a bond that is threatened by both inward and outward forces.
Kelli Stanfield plays Eliza, and Ray Hollenbach plays Higgins.
