Covered Bridges of Kentucky illustrates a time when small rivers and creeks were crossed on wooden planks. It includes the artwork of the remaining 13 Kentucky bridges painted by Frosty Rankin, plus hand drawn and photographic images that tell of vanished Bourbon County structures. Engineering information along with maps are included in the exhibit, plus a large rendition of the Colville bridge for inside photos.
A bridge-building activity table provides young builders a chance to construct their own bridges.
Special guests are artist Frosty Rankin and author Melissa Jurgensen who will sign their books on Kentucky and Bourbon County bridges. The exhibition is sponsored by Kentucky Bank and Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance.
