Darius de Haas
A unique and versatile artist, Darius de Haas enjoys a multifaceted career as an award-winning, widely acclaimed popular singer and actor. The son of jazz bassist Eddie de Haas and singer Geraldine Bey de Haas (formerly of the group Andy and the Bey Sisters), he has performed under the bright lights of Broadway and in renowned regional play houses in leading roles for such hits as Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Rent, Dreamgirls, Hair, Children of Eden, Jesus Christ Superstar, and the Pulitzer Prize-nominated Running Man.
His singular abilities have established him as a performer in a variety of settings as well as guesting with several orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra, The Cincinnati Pops, The Los Angeles Master Chorale, The New York Festival of Song, The Moab Music Festival, and Alvin Ailey Dance Theater's 50th Gala Celebration. He has shared the stage with such luminaries as Elvis Costello, Deborah Harry, Michael Feinstein, Marvin Hamlisch, Roberta Flack, Vanessa Williams, and his uncle-legendary jazz vocalist Andy Bey. His Club Weisiger concert debut will draw from the American songbook and feature a blend of Broadway, popular, jazz, and art song favorites.
"The quality that most distinguishes Mr. de Haas from his forerunners is his unguarded emotionality and eagerness to dive deep into a song and carry it as far as it will let him.” - New York Times
