To celebrate its milestone birthday, the Children’s Museum Guild’s Haunted House will take visitors on a creepy trip through time and showcase the changes in our culture over the last 50 years. Visitors will explore 50 years of fear as Ghoulish Guide Dr. Timestein ushers them through 50 years of petrifying pop culture.
Halloween enthusiasts should fasten their seatbelts as this trip showcases five “deadcades” of music, movies, television and history through a ride in a terrifying Time Warp! Watch a haunted history unfold in front of your eyes as you explore iconic events like the lunar landing, disco, arcades, MTV, coffee houses and the birth of the Internet through a haunted lens.
As a special anniversary “treat” visitors will have the option of taking their haunt experience to the next level by donning a pair of 3D glasses. New Chroma-Depth technology allows the Children’s Museum Guild’s design team to decorate the Haunted House so that images pop out in 3D during both lights-on and frightening hours.
The Children’s Museum Guild Haunted House, Time Warp: 50 Years of Fear, runs October 10-31, 2013. In addition to the Haunted House, the museum offers family Halloween programming, including Feast With the Witches, Scout Late Night Adventures and the Black Hat Bash.
