Rock artist Joan Jett will be performing a free concert with special guest Devour the Day at the Kentucky State Fair on Saturday, August 23.
Joan Jett is a rock guitarist, singer-songwriter, producer and actress famous for her work with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. Their hit record “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” made No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and is still well known today. Three of their albums were also certified platinum or gold. Jett has been inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame, was named one of Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, was nominated twice for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and was the first female to receive Revolver Magazine’s Golden God Award.
Devour the Day, a hard rock band, has recently re-released the studio album Time & Pressure. The group's 2013 single “Good Man” and 2014 single “Move On” both made the Top 25 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock charts. Throughout 2013, Devour the Day toured with bands such as Hinder, Theory of a Deadman, Trapt and Sick Puppies. The band is currently part of the Hell Pop Tour II.
