Many of the Commonwealth’s brightest literary luminaries will shine at the 32nd annual Kentucky Book Fair on Nov. 16. Among the distinguished authors scheduled to attend is Sue Grafton, whose W is for Wasted, the most recent installment in her bestselling Kinsey Millhone mystery series, was released in September. Of the series, Maureen Corrigan, book critic for NPR’s Fresh Air, has written: “Makes me wish there were more than 26 letters at her disposal.”
More than 140 writers are slated to attend Kentucky’s preeminent literary showcase and include authors George Ella Lyon, Wendell Berry, Kentucky Poet Laureate Frank X Walker, University of Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino and Mike Norris, who along with artist Minnie Adkins released the children’s book Bright Blue Rooster: Down on the Farm earlier this year (see Kentucky Monthly’s June/July issue, page 7).
Readers can meet their favorite Kentucky authors at the event in the Frankfort Convention Center from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. For a review of Grafton’s latest novel, see our September issue, page 58, or visit kentuckymonthly.com.
