During the Civil War, Bowling Green had been border state Kentucky’s capital—whichever side held the reins. In A Kentucky Christmas Carol, Scrooge and Marley had, it seems, been working with both sides and taking their cut off the top! After Marley’s “dispatch,” Col. Ebenezer is visited by three spirits, who have been enjoying some of the local “spirits” themselves. A new twist on an old Carol?
While still maintaining the heart and story of the classic Dickens tale, the new script by playwright Jeffrey Beard will transport the story to an 1860s Bowling Green, Kentucky, weaving the town history of the end of the Civil War with the familiar story-line. You’ll see a new take on several characters and have a “spirited” good time along the journey!
A Kentucky Christmas Carol will feature our special blend of New York and regional professionals along with an introduction to our new Young Company.
