Kentucky State Fair Turf Concert Series Lineup
The Turf Concert Series returns to the Kentucky State Fair for the third year and includes 11 concerts on the Cardinal Stadium field. All concerts are free with Kentucky State Fair gate admission.
The 2015 Turf Concert Series features:
Aug. 20 - Slaughter and Great White
Aug. 21 - Jagged Edge with special guest Dru Hill
Aug. 22 - All That Remains
Aug. 23 - Oak Ridge Boys with special guest Belles & Whistles
Aug. 24 - Casting Crowns with special guest I Am They
Aug. 25 - Country Gold Tour featuring Leroy Van Dyke, Steve and Rudy Gatlin, Moe Bandy, Eddy Raven, Jimmy Fortune and Gene Watson
Aug. 26 - Easton Corbin with special guest Nathan Osmond
Aug. 27 - Happy Together Tour featuring The Turtles, The Association, The Cowsills, Mark Lindsay, The Buckinghams and The Grass Roots
Aug. 28 - Charlie Daniels with special guest Colt Ford
Aug. 29 - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts with special guests Devour the Day
Aug. 30 - Family Force 5, Hawk Nelson, Matt Maher, and For King & Country
“We are excited to bring high quality entertainment at a great value to fairgoers,” said Clifford “Rip” Rippetoe, President and CEO of Kentucky State Fair Board. “The Turf Concert Series combines a great atmosphere with old favorites and up-and-coming artists.”
Slaughter and Great White, two American hard rock bands, will play on the opening night of the Fair. Slaughter is best known for hits such as “Up All Night,” “Fly to the Angels” and “Spend My Life.” Great White has released twelve studio albums and sold more than 8 million records. Their hit songs include “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and “Rock Me.”
Christian artists Casting Crowns will play at Cardinal Stadium on the first Monday of the Fair. have earned nine No. 1 hits on radio, and four RIAA gold certified digital singles including, “Who Am I, “ “Voice of Truth” and “Praise You In This Storm.”
In addition, country artist Easton Corbin will perform at this year’s concert series. Corbin has had two consecutive singles reach No. 1, “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It.” “Baby Be My Love Song,” is out now on the radio.
New to the Fair is a Christian Music Festival that includes artists Family Force 5, Hawk Nelson, Matt Maher, and For King & Country. These artists will perform at 4 p.m. on the last Sunday of the Fair. All other concerts have an 8 p.m. start time.
Hawk Nelson a Christian band originally from Ontario, is redefining their sound after the release of their new album, Made, their sixth overall album. Their radio single “Words” went NO.1 at Billboard’s Christian Hot AC/CHR.
Christian band, For King and Country is comprised of Australian brothers who have collaborated with artists from other music genres, including hip-hop artist Andy Mineo.
Gates open an hour and a half before show time.
Parking at the Kentucky Exposition Center is $8.
The 2015 Kentucky State Fair is August 20-30 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
