Performance to be held in the Carol Wedge Studio Theater located in the Renshaw Education wing at SKyPAC.
Sports produces great human drama, and there is no greater sports icon to bring to theatrical life than Hall of Fame football coach Vince Lombardi, unquestionably one of the most inspirational and quotable personalities of all time. Though football’s Super Bowl trophy is named for him, few know the real story of Lombardi the man—his aspirations, his passions and ability to drive people to achieve what they never thought possible.
Lombardi is a new American play by Academy Award winner Eric Simonson and based on the best-selling biography When Pride Still Mattered: A Live of Vince Lombardi, by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Dan Maraniss. This original work brings the audience into the life and times of one of America’s most inspirational and mercurial personalities, Hall of Fame football coach, Vince Lombardi.
Theatre-goers are warned that the play deals with an honest and realistic portrayal of sports legend Vince Lombardi and the players under his leadership and, therefore, contains language that some patrons may find objectionable. Further information is available at the box office.
