Mill Springs Cornbread Festival
Historic Mill Springs Park, overlooking beautiful Lake Cumberland, is the site for the annual Cornbread Festival. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. and a delicious hot meal of hoecakes and pinto beans with the trimmings is served from 11:00a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The pinto beans are seasoned with country ham and slow cooked to perfection. And the hoecakes, made from Mill Springs stone ground meal, are served hot right off the griddle. Guests select a beverage and a sweet from the tantalizing array of homemade desserts. In addition to food, we have local arts and crafts vendors, local vocalists, and demonstrations of corn grinding at the 1877 grist mill, powered by water gushing from the thirteen springs. The venue is accessible by water as well as from Hwy 1275.
