The Moonshine 5K Run/1 Mile Walk will be the first-ever night race within the Green River Lake State Park. Adults, families and children are encouraged to come out and participate in this run and walk event.
With the full moon to light the way, everyone involved with the race will be encouraged to wear light-up or glow-in-the-dark devices. This will add to the fun and adventure of a nighttime run. All those who register will get a T-shirt or some type of commemorative souvenir. Prizes will be awarded to the top performers. A post-race party will be held at the lake-side shelter for all volunteers and participants to recognize the 90th Anniversary of the Department of Parks.
Registration is from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the shelter by the lake. The race begins at 7 p.m. Those who pre-register by Sept.26 are guaranteed a T-shirt or commemorative souvenir.
