How does the work of a New York City artist change after she moves to Kentucky? The work of Elsa Bekkala of Lafayette, Kentucky, will be on display in a one-person show of 30 oil paintings at the Janice Mason Art Museum in Cadiz, Kentucky.
The public is invited to the opening from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014. The paintings will be on view until November 29.
After 25 years in New York City, Bekkala now lives in Kentucky and occupies the former Lafayette Bank Building, built in 1898, as her painting studio. She holds a master's degree in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and a doctoral degree from Columbia University in studio/art education.
