Country artist Scotty McCreery will perform a free concert with special guest Kelsey K at the Kentucky State Fair on Friday, August 22.
Scotty McCreery is a country music singer and winner of the 10th season of American Idol. His debut album Clear as Day went platinum in the United States in 2011 and includes two Top 20 songs, “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls.” His 2012 Christmas album, Christmas With Scotty McCreery, as well as his third album, See You Tonight, have contributed to his successful album sales, which top 1.6 million! His single, “See You Tonight,” also reached the Top 10 on Billboard’s Country charts in 2013. McCreery has performed for President Barack Obama and at the Macy’s Day Parade, among other notable places.
Kelsey K is an up-and-coming country music artist from Iowa. Her song “Country Mess” received Best Country Song at the 2012 Independent Music Awards, and her song “Blue Jean Girl” has been selected for Nashville Songwriter’s Associations’ Top 40 as well as being part of the soundtrack for the upcoming movie Dakota’s Summer. Kelsey K is familiar with State Fairs near and far, having opened for Jerrod Niemann at the 2013 Oklahoma State Fair, Toby Keith at the 2013 Missouri State Fair, and again with Jerrod Niemann and Thomas Rhett at the 2013 Kentucky State Fair. This year, she will not only return to the Kentucky State Fair, but also will be opening for Lady Antebellum and Billy Currington at the 2014 Iowa State Fair.
