The Southern Kentucky Book Fest is a two-day community event. Day 1 is Children's Day which is held Friday and is devoted to school children in grades K-12, librarians, and educators. Students have the opportunity to meet and hear from their favorite authors, participate in dramatic and musical performances, and exercise their creativity in the make and do area. It's lots of fun for teachers and parents too! In 2014, Children's Day will be on Friday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Day 2 is held on Saturday and is the major book festival and signing event. It will take place on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some of the activities from Children's Day are repeated, plus adult authors and presentations are added. Admission to both days is generally free except for special ticketed events that are announced in advance.
