Belles and Beaus Ball, “Best of the Bluegrass"
The Lexington Chapter of The American Cancer Society (ACS) will host its signature event, the Belles and Beaus Ball, “Best of the Bluegrass,” at the Carrick House in Lexington, Ky, on Friday September 25th, 2015.
This annual event is a huge community fundraising gala expected to draw 350 guests with the goal of raising $200,000. Three belles and three beaus will be honored during this event which is crucial for helping the ACS and its mission of eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service. The three “Belles” are Kay Blevins, Marcie Lowe and Victoria Hildebrandt Meyer, and the three “Beaus” are John V. Boardman III, Doug Flynn and Tom Kelly. These local Belles and Beaus of the community are a mix of cancer survivors and supporters who will come together to raise funds to help the ACS further the mission.
The Belles & Beaus event will be held at the Carrick House at 312 North Limestone in Lexington on Friday, September 25th and will include dinner, drinks and entertainment by The Jimmy Church Band. The Belles & Beaus Ball brings together the local Bluegrass community to support this cause, honor those who have been affected by the disease and celebrate those beating the disease. Local community members and organizations are invited to attend this event or participate as a sponsor.
