19th Annual UNFair featuring over 25 local artists set for October 2, 3 and 4th, 2015
The UNFair, an eclectic gathering of over 25 local artists, is set for the weekend of October 2nd through 4th, from 10 am - 6 pm The Magnolia Bar on the corner of S. 2nd St. and Magnolia Ave. in the heart of Old Louisville is home to this annual event. Many art forms will be on display from painting and photography to sculpture, jewelry and live glass blowing. There will also be DJ's spinning records all weekend on the balcony for the enjoyment of the artists and spectators alike. The unique and often subversive flavor of the UNFair has made it a local favorite for 19 years.
The Unfair started small with local artists Paul Harshaw, Greg Edwards, and Bobby Clifton. They saw the vast crowd of people created from the St James Art Fair as an opportunity to sell their work. The former owner of the Mag Bar, Dave Norton, agreed to let them set up their artwork in the backyard of the bar. The location proved to be a success. After a couple of years they invited other artists to participate and it has taken on a life of its own since. The new owners of the Mag Bar, Danny Fitzgerald and Beenee Overstreet, fully embrace theUnFair. They have worked along side the artists to ensure the continuation of this awesome event.
