Bristol Bar & Grille Master Sommelier teams with Sheraton Louisville Riverside for wine tasting to benefit wounded veteran
Scott Harper teaches professional tasting techniques at Sept. 23 event
Join Bristol Bar & Grille Master Sommelier Scott Harper Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Louisville Riverside, 700 W. Riverside Dr., for an expert’s guide to wine tasting. Harper will guide guests through the flavor nuances of wines from Napa Valley, Italy and France highlighting how climate and region affect each type. Cost is $50 which includes a reception wine and four tasting wines. A portion of the proceeds will go toward funding a new home for an injured Marine through the United States Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment and Sotherly Foundation, the philanthropic effort of the Sheraton’s parent company.
In addition to the wine tasting, a silent auction made up of donations from local businesses will take place. All proceeds of the items sold will go directly to pay for a house for the medically retired Marine who suffered a traumatic brain injury when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Afghanistan in 2011. Due to his injuries, he is no longer able to work and his wife is now his full-time caregiver in addition to helping raise the couple’s three-year-old daughter.
