On Friday, May 15, 2015, folks from around the state will converge at Keeneland for the 35th Annual Taste of the Bluegrass, benefiting God’s Pantry Food Bank, headquartered in Lexington.
The Taste of the Bluegrass fundraiser includes 60 food and beverage purveyors offering product samplings to more than 1,000 people in Keeneland’s Keene Barn and Entertainment Center, from 7-11 p.m. Friday night.
Live music will be provided by Lexington band, The Fever, and ticket holders also will have an opportunity to place their bids in a silent auction and have fun in a photo booth.
Taste of the Bluegrass is one of the oldest fundraising events in Central Kentucky. The event typically raises more than $100,000. God’s Pantry Food Bank says that for every $10 donation, it can distribute a $100 worth of food. Given that equation, God’s Pantry Food Bank will be able to distribute more than $1 million worth of food to the 50 Kentucky counties it serves.
Tickets are $85, $50 of which is tax deductible. For a complete list of participating businesses, or for more information, visit www.godspantry.org or call the main Lexington office at (859) 255-6592.
